I have been using shipping protection recently and haven’t had to use it. All deliveries were received. So maybe it’s not necessary? Postal service has delivered, sometimes delayed but always delivered.

Why is shipping insurance offered?

I don’t understand why I should pay for shipping insurance. If the package doesn’t arrive, it should be a problem for the seller and shipper to resolve. Same holds true if the package arrives damaged. It appears to me that this is just a way for the seller to increase their profit in an unobtrusive way.
